Material Introduction

Refractory castable is a mixture composed of refractory aggregates, powders, and binders. After adding water or other liquids, it is suitable for casting and vibration construction methods, and can also be pre-made into precast shapes of specified dimensions for constructing industrial furnace linings. To improve the physical and chemical properties and workability, various admixtures are often added, such as plasticizers, dispersants, accelerators, retarders, expansion agents, and peptization-gelation agents. Additionally, adding stainless steel fibers to castables used in areas subject to significant mechanical forces or intense thermal shock can significantly increase material toughness. In insulating refractory castables, the addition of inorganic fibers both enhances toughness and helps improve insulation performance.

Refractory castables feature simple production processes, labor and energy savings, high construction efficiency and quality, and can be formulated on-site or use materials with excellent performance as needed. Therefore, refractory castable is a widely used unshaped refractory material with large consumption in furnace construction engineering.
